CHARLI XCX NEW ALBUM

Joshua Thompson

Charli XCX seems to be back in her earlier era of experimental BOPs since we last had Crash in 2022.

What do we know so far?

Since the release of Crash way back in March 2022 and alongside a fabulous tour to go with it, (despite being the sweatiest I've ever felt at a gig because of the pure smell of poppers and everyone in latex), Charli has released a handful of singles which are all banger after banger even without an album.

Side note - I'm one of those people who heard the leak for Good Ones a month before it came out and I'm sorry not sorry that I've had it on repeat pretty much for almost three years...

Movie soundtracks seem to have been a bigger thing though for Charli in the last year or so, with her being featured on the iconic Barbie soundtrack with Speed Drive (BOP) and then even releasing her soundtrack for the movie Bottoms with Leo Birenberg. Alongside the movies, she's also spent a lot of time at Fashion Week's around the world, most recently with J W Anderson at his show in London.

So what's coming up?

Charli has been teasing a new era for a while now since she deleted everything on her Instagram to make way for a fresh new vibe and, judging by the snippet that's already out there, the new era sounds like more incoming bangers.

Sampling Bodyrox's Yeah Yeah (in true Charli sampling fashion), Von Dutch seems to be the lead single for the upcoming new album and is due to be released on 29th February (less than a week to go!) I don't know about you but I've had sample in my head RENT free for about a month now.

Listen to the snippet from Charli's Instagram below:

She's definitely on her way with more iconic music and maybe I'll finally stop boring everyone with Good Ones on repeat... Doubtful.

That said, here's Good Ones...
